Hello Friends,
What a beautiful snowfall we had this morning. The Farmer's Almanac is saying that the beginning of this winter will be colder and snowier than years past, but then will warm up as time goes on. So far it seems to be ringing true. Although Winter tends to be a slower time on the farm, we are busy in planning mode since we are ramping up our CSA next year to 50 shares! We are hiring, and planning for the construction of our new market barn. We are researching tractors and finalizing our crop plan. There are so many good things in store for 2026, and we can't wait to share them with you. Our sign up for the CSA will be launched in February, so please stay tuned to our newsletters for the announcement.
We held our Winter Solstice Sound Bath and Qi Gong experience, and I think everyone would agree, it really helped us usher in the Season with Peace and inward flowing energy. We enjoyed Butternut Pear Ginger soup, herbal tea and delicious Chickpea Farinata. I talked about the meaning of the coming season, the foods we should be eating and read a prayer poem. The sound bath took everyone to another place and then back again, putting us all in a more peaceful perspective. With the daylight now increasing, so will our egg production. Martha's egg hotline will be back in business soon!
We have been diligently working on our 2026 workshop schedule and we have some really great sessions planned. First up is our Custom Tea Blending workshop on January 30th. Have you ever wanted to create your own herbal tea using our regeneratively grown herbs? We will be discussing the art of blending herbal teas and tisanes, and enjoying our fresh scones along with homemade brown honey butter. I will also be demonstrating how to make homemade butter so that you can recreate it at home!
We have a maple sugaring workshop coming up in early February, so please check our Events page often. We will be updating it regularly.
This Holiday season we were asked by a few customers to curate gift baskets with good things from the farm. We are grateful to say that they were a huge success. This year we have curated baskets for new parents, recovering patients, teachers and valued clients. Please always feel free to reach out if you'd like us to create a special care package.
We would also like to remind you that although our farm store shed is closed for the season, we are offering free delivery within ten miles of the farm. We deeply appreciate your support through the Winter, and all throughout the year.
Our Team would like to wish you and your families a joyous Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa. May God bestow so many blessings upon you in the year ahead. We are so grateful to be on this journey, and are happy to share it with you, our community.
May God bless you today and always.
Sincerely,
Michele & the Maranatha Farm Team
