Mother's Day, Basket Day & Our First Plant Sale

Hello Friends,

We hope that you had a great week.  It's been so busy here on the farm, and with all of the rain we've had, it feels like there is finally an explosion of green everywhere after a very brown Winter.

We would like to wish all of you a Happy Mother's Day.  We hope that it is an occasion to spend time together and rest a bit on this drizzly Sunday.  Not only are we seeing a lot of green, but also the flowers here on the farm this Spring have been exceptional.  The peonies just started, so we added some to our Mother's Day bouquets.  Here is a photo of a beautiful bouquet that Farmer Mary made.

As you know, we are ramping up production this year and trying a lot of new things.  The first is that next Saturday, May 18th we are excited to be a vendor at the Lamington Presbyterian Church Basket Day.  Here are the details.  We hope that you will come by to see all of the great vendors. We will be bringing lots of goodies from the farm:  baked goods, eggs, jams, maple syrup, honey, pottery and much more.  Please come by and say hi!

Last but not least, since our greenhouse was completed a few months ago, Farmer Tanner, Farmer Mary and Farmer Sammie have been very industrious with seeding all manners of vegetables, ginger, and flowers. We have such abundance that we would like to share some started plants that you can grown in a pot on your patio, or in your own garden.  Please take a look at our shop page, and you will also get a glimpse of some of the veggies that we will be offering as the growing season goes on.

We have escarole, eggplant, peppers, lots of tomatoes and swiss chard. Here's a glimpse in the greenhouse.

I leave you with a little peek at the promise of our famous strawberries.  June will be here before we know it!

Stay well friends and may God bless you and your families.

Sincerely,

Michele & the Maranatha Farm Team
