Tanis Apiaries started out in 2008 as a small hobby. A work colleague who was a hobby beekeeper encouraged Craig to keep his own bees. Craig spent a year researching everything about keeping bees & became fascinated with God’s creation of this small creature. We started out with one hive. Over the years our apiary has grown naturally by raising our own queens and hives.

We are now keeping over 20 hives & about 15 NUC colonies. Beekeeping is an enjoyable hobby, but can also be frustrating as the bees struggle to survive. We do our best as beekeepers to help the bees survive since the feral bee population has been wiped out due to invasive pests like the Varroa Mite. As a thanks for our help, the bees try to produce an oversupply of honey that the beekeeper can take for himself. That is why we call our honey “Nature’s Golden Gift".
