Patience, Bunny Boom & Flowers

Hello Friends,

I hope that your week was great, and that you enjoyed today's weather as much as we did here on the Farm.  We started working with our friends at North Jersey Drone Shots today and got some really great footage.  Below is a shot of our Giving Garden South, and the Prep Barn.  If you have Instagram, you can check out our first reel from today's session.

We are certainly learning our lessons in patience this week.  While the sheep barn construction is completed, and the solar and electrical work is on schedule, the 10 foot cedar fence posts we need are in short supply, and so now we are pushing further into August before we will be able to welcome our sheep.  Some of our veggies have been slower to mature, so once they do we expect to have an explosion.  Patience and perseverance is the name of the game in farming, and in life it seems.

Speaking of explosions, I don't know about in your neck of the woods, but we have never had rabbits before, and this year we have had a bunny population explosion.  They have been eating everything in sight.  We have tried physical barriers like poultry fencing, but these bunnies are determined. Our next trick is a natural product call Deer Scram that is also supposed to work for rabbits, but if you have any suggestions, please let us know!

Last but not least, now for some good news.  Due to the huge success of our first Flower Subscription, we are happy to offer two more 4 week subscriptions.   Some of the flowers you can expect are sunflowers, dahlias, cosmos, zinnias, hydrangeas, and many more unique varieties.  Here's an example from this past week's farm store bouquets:

The first one begins on August 7th

The second one begins on September 4th

Wishing you a blessed weekend ahead.  It looks like it's going to be gorgeous weather, so please spend as much time outside as you can!

Many thanks for your continued support and kind attention.

Sincerely,

Michele & the Maranatha Farm Team
